Profile

The subtlety of the connection between body, mind and spirit in Osteopathy has held my passion and fascination ever since qualifying from the European School of Osteopathy in 1977.   I have come to believe ever more strongly in the unfolding wisdom of the body, and its immense capacity for healing given the right understanding, help and support. This continues to inform my growth and development as a practitioner. I have explored different modalities of healing, psychotherapy, bodymind centring, movement work of different sorts and  always find myself returning to my base as an Osteopath, as I work best when what i do with my hands is grounded in anatomy, physiology and body mechanics.

There is a huge amount of fascinating research into the functioning of the body and mind that supports the work we do.   In particular I find the current development of understanding in the field of trauma and post traumatic stress particularly relevant. I have completed the part one of the Sensorymotor psychotherapy institute trauma training, This has informed my work over the last few years.

I am enjoying my new venture of teaching Qigong. It presents a frame that I can use to explore ideas and principals from Osteopathy, the Chinese tradition and other movement and creative practices that I have been involved with over the years.
